Computers for Kids: Providing Computers for Immune-Deficient Hospitalized Children - A hospital can be a very frightening and overwhelming place for a child. Combine that with isolation from friends and family, and children face an even greater challenge in their daily fight to survive and recover.

To help combat this challenge, the Jordan Farmar Foundation, in partnership with Mattel Children’s hospital at UCLA, is working to provide immune deficient children with laptop computers to communicate with family, friends and loved ones during their long stays in the hospital.

In an effort to promote the health, hope and healing of these remarkable children, the Jordan Farmar Foundation is seeking your support to help kids who cannot leave their hospital room, or have others visit, have the daily contact they need with their family, friends and fellow patients. With your donations, we can provide these children with laptop computers that have wireless capabilities, allowing them to learn, play, and communicate with their family, make friends and support one another online. Please consider assisting us in making a difference in the life of a child….

Making Dreams Come True - In an effort to alleviate the pain and stress of acutely ill children and their families, Jordan invites a child and his or her family from the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital to a Laker's home game, during which they enjoy dinner with Jordan's family; watch (and meet) the Lakers during warmup; and spend time with Jordan after the game. In addition, Jordan hosts an annual reunion each summer at the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital for the children and families who have participated in the ‘Making Dreams Come True’ program. This annual celebration reunites families and continues Jordan’s mission of bringing health, hope and healing to children afflicted by illness and disease.

UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital 'GREEN ROOM' - UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital 'GREEN ROOM' - The foundation is currently working to fund the development of a ‘green room’ at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. As many of us know, a hospital can be a very frightening and overwhelming place for a child and we want to lessen the anxiety that kids feel by helping to make their time in the hospital a little more fun!

The Jordan Farmar Foundation’s ‘green room’ will be full of fun, games, positive vibes and environmental learning that will help sick children escape from their everyday hospital environment and into a world of excitement and education.

HOOP FARM - Jordan runs a four-day basketball camp on the UCLA campus each summer that promotes teamwork, values and healthy living for boys and girls aged 8-16 with the Jordan Farmar Foundation providing scholarships to kids in need. The camp features basketball drills, yoga instruction and guest speakers who emphasize the importance of integrating mind, body and spirit in sports and in life.

Campers receive coaching from 15 top notch NCAA and NBA athletes, as well as instruction from Jordan himself! Jordan is at each camp - all day, every day - in order to ensure that campers have a memorable and rewarding experience.

Jordan Farmar’s 3rd Annual Hoop Farm Basketball Camp is returning to UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion from August 16-19, 2010 - Check in is at 8:30 AM daily and pick up is at 3:30.  Visit the Hoop Farm camp page to register.

INTERFAITH BASKETBALL CLINIC - Jordan has donated his time and has an ongoing commitment to the Seeds of Peace Camp, where children from conflict-ridden areas of the world bunk, eat, and play together to get to know the human face of their supposed enemies. Jordan has also participated in a basketball clinic in Israel — run by the Peres Center for Peace — that fosters tolerance between Israeli and Palestinian youth through the universal language of basketball. Since basketball has always served as a sanctuary for Jordan during hard times, he hopes that with his help, it will do the same for today’s youth.
